Tea, a simple leaf that has touched the lives of so many, inspired greatness, and most importantly, it brought people together. Growing up in a traditional Chinese family I have witnessed how much my family loves to drink teas. My grandparents brewed a pot of tea every morning and they would drink tea all day long. This passed on to my parents as a habit and they were the ones who first introduced me to “Mao Feng”, “Pu Er” and “Bai Mu Dan” and taught me about different types of tea, assortment and preparation methods. Tea has brought us together through good times and bad, rain or shine.

My husband was born and grew up in England. When I first met his parents, I brought them “XiHu Long Jing” then we had a cup of tea together at local tea house where his parents had been visiting over the past 30 years. They are tea lovers too; they told me that when they lived in South Africa they used to have Rooibos teas. Back to England, an English breakfast tea marks the start of their day.

The story of tea has its beginnings in China. Tea has spread across the globe from China through the Silk Road, finding converts along the way in Russia, through to Central Asia, the Indian Sub continent, Africa and Europe. Across the globe, tea has found a place in people’s daily lives and routines. When I travel to different places I could always meet people who love teas and this has inspired me to start JLEE International. Whether it’s Green, White, Black, Chai, Artisan or Blended, when East met West, Tea brought us together. Regardless of whether its new or old, trend or tradition, familiar or exotic, I hope I can bring you together to continue my tea story and share yours! – By Founder
